Coming Home

This debut novel of her is far better and simple than Lomba. The characterization is great and fun to read. The theme of story about the adoption and love protrayal is great and mind refreshing.

Lomba

The book tried so hard to describe a magical adventures focusing on Loma culture in Haa but for me seriously! ? I was expecting a much more great book with a mind blowing content from the author but for me it literally didn't live up to my expectations. Throughout the book it was a cringe to even read aloud in my brain.

The starting of the book and the friends (character) description are great but from the page when she was dragged to the strange land it feels like she is just simply writing without no sense of taking readers with the story. It lacks emotion and imagination. It would have been great if she could fully described the setting more enthusiastically.

The Night Hunter

This book is collection of various stories and it is a roller coaster of adventures and fun. Consistently readers found themselves in the variety of adventures both comedy and tragic.

Grab this book when you are no mood to read a lengthy novel. This book is your right choice while drinking a cup of suja in balcony.

La Ama... a mother’s call

This book talks about the harsh reality of our life where the power always plays a role in a dirty work. Where only the people with high authority can monitor the other lower people life. It tells about the young girl who have to face the harsh reality in the school and her life.

Though the book try to narrate a story focusing on a strong theme, I feel like the elements and the narration seem bit off and not in the proper arrangement. Time and again readers lose track of the time whether it's telling the past story or in the present state.

Dawa: The Story of a Stray Dog in Bhutan

This is my second book to read by Aum Kunzang Choden. The reason of giving a five stars is because of the portrayal of invaluable themes and morals depicted in the book.

It is no wonder the book is selected as literature textbook for class 9. Through the story of Dawa the stray dog, we can see the events that can relate to human being. It tells about the loss of our love ones, power and freedom, adventures, consistency, competence, acceptance, betrayal and self respect. Throughout the book, we can feel the life of Dawa.

Do read this book. Highly recommended.

?????

Dear Seday

This is a simple story revolving around a sharchokpa boy who writes his emotions towards his love Seday in the form of letter. It was a time during which letter was only the way to express in absence of technology.

The book is not really a scoring but deserve a read.

The Circle of Karma

This is my first and favorite read by Author Kunzang Choden. The book is wonderfully and satisfactorily written with Bhutanese insights focusing on a Bhutanese girl Tshomo. The story follows Tshomo who travel across Bhutan and India to search for an answer. What is the purpose of life? Can a girl travel alone across the Bhutan?

The theme focusing on woman empowerment and freedom nicely crafted into a beautiful story. You will be in a long journey with Tshomo along the book. You will experience the life of Tshomo with trivials and difficulties yet found solace at the end.

Do read this book and spread the love la!

Kadrinche, Beyond Words

It’s a simple good book worth 200 pages. Authored by Jolly Kinley Wangchuk sir. The most important thing a father can do
for his children is to love their mother. So love your beautiful wife unconditionally. It really touched my heart and gave me a life lesson to be a good husband and a person… and the importance of parental love to children.

This book tells about how our life can be so brutal at times. But the most important thing is to stand up, face it and fight back of our troubles. Life can treat us cruel at times but it can also treat us with joys and satisfaction. I would like to recommend everyone to read this book.

Escapades Awakenings

This book by the first timer author Doji Dhratyul talks about the life style of a remote village and the current generation of people living in Bhutan. This book is rich in terms of cultures and traditions of Bhutan. Through the character and story it tells about the love of a single mother towards her daughter and the hope to raise high among the harsh life. This novel spans a three generation of a family and it talks about the unfair of treatment of village girls in Zhemgang by the higher official like civil servants (Dashos) without the knowledge of outsiders.

This book give a clear insight of Bhutan. It tells about the single mother who faced herself a trouble when she was young. She was also a victim of those civil servants which in that time the village girls are often used as the subject of interest to Dashos like a offering. It was a disgraceful tradition in their village where only the higher people have a power to control and low people can do nothing but accept their own fates.

The book is typically a Bhutanese culture and tradition oriented book and it gives you a multi-themes and lessons.
