What A Bull Said

A book of ‘Local Wisdom’ as described by the author, it is a book based on story shared by his illiterate father about a bull and an ox (story revolves around the glasses of bull and ox). Author has shared about our narrow view of education in Bhutanese society and how we groomed our future leader in the zone of education. In which he described about his idea of education, education vs. qualification, education vs. character development, education vs. career success, education vs. intelligence, and education vs. schooling (central theme of the book). Education is wild and free -One can earn education from basic thing such as doing of household chores. Schooling is one such forum to learn out of many means. The book is written based on local wisdom narrated by his father and most importantly his childhood experiences. Moreover, it contains our instinct of bull and ox in everyday works, it also brings lights on folktales, anecdotes, and wisdom of age old tradition and beliefs. I recommend this book through three views: first, (educators) our educators to review our notions on education in school. This book will help us in enlightening ‘why our teachers told lie?’ Second, (learners) our students’ concepts of education also need to change with their evolving generation. It will help students to view education in broader way –not only in school. Third, this book will also help to those people who need activation energy to start their work. I don’t think there is anyone who wouldn’t benefit from reading this book.Bow as you grow – excerpt from the Book.

Mysterious Journey of My Education

In this book author touches every single steps of his life journey. As we are born under the same sky but with different destiny, our hardship, happiness, family that surrounded you, the society that you lived in. As mentioned in the book, author grew up taking Golden food (Kharang, 'yellowish grain from maize') and lived in small hut with tear and torn out cloths. He live in a society where his world is run by poor parenting and was look down and dejected by community. However, he walk with big dreams. But he never led his dreams to become his master. Whereby, he find his own north star.
I personally recommend this book to today's youth where your world is run by shallow relationships from parents, love, best friends and friends. Moreover, it will be helpful for those who are struggling in finding your north star.
